About

Rev. Rudy Sheptock was born in 1960 in Passaic, New Jersey and is very proud of his Jersey roots.  He grew up Roman Catholic and made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his Savior as a freshman in high school in 1975.  Rudy then got very involved in the youth ministry of Long Hill Chapel, a C&MA church, and excitedly grew in his faith.

While in high school, Rudy felt called by God to full time ministry and went on to Philadelphia College of Bible where he graduated in 1982.  After PCB, Rudy began his full time ministry working with Youth for Christ under Ron Hutchcraft in Morris County, New Jersey. Rudy has also ministered full time in Dayton and Stow, Ohio and in Omaha, Nebraska.

He has specialized in Youth, College and Ministry to Singles. It has always been his philosophy to develop a strong “homebase” with many positive
bridges going to and from the church to the community. There has always been a strong outreach mentality with all that Rudy has been associated with. The Youth Outreaches he oversaw always made an impact into the surrounding schools and community.

Since the summer of ’97, Rudy has been the Senior Pastor of The Lighthouse Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Cape May County, New Jersey. The church makes its mission to take the true treasure, Jesus Christ, to reach a county and not just a select few. The church is characterized by providing excellent and various avenues of alive and electric worship, clear biblical and relevant truth and genuine caring community.

Rudy considers the Lighthouse Church a gift from God and an exciting place to be. Rudy is husband to Terri, his partner in life and in ministry and they have been married since 1982. He is also “Daddy” to Rudy III- who is married to Lindsey- Leah- who is married to Jeff, Abbie and Joel! He is also Pop-Pop to Jude, Gideon, Eden and Lucia!!!

Not a stranger to tragedy and very difficult times, The Sheptock’s youngest daughter Abbie, has battled back from kidney cancer and their middle 2 sons lived only a short time on earth. (Nicholas Paul, the Sheptock’s fourth child was born and died on April 5, 1995 and Benjamin Philip the Sheptock’s fifth child was born and died on March 7, 1999. There was even the loss of another child- 6 month into the pregnancy on June 15th, 2005.)

Rudy has been a featured speaker at the Christian and Missionary Alliance LIFE Conferences, Operation Good News Events and Camps throughout the country.

He has also spoken at the C&MA Colleges, countless churches and church retreats and has ministered abroad in Russia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the Alliance Academy in Quito, Ecuador, the Dalat School in Penang, Malaysia and the Alliance Youth Conferences in Australia.

Rudy grew up in a very unique family. His parents, Rudy Sr. (who graduated to glory in 2000) and Joanne had seven children of their own and went on to adopt 30 more. Rudy credits his parents for teaching him a ton about real faith and being adventurous in following God.

Pastor Rudy is known for his passionate love for Jesus and contagious enthusiasm which becomes evident in his unique speaking style.

He is also a huge New York Mets, Philadelphia Eagles, Seton Hall Pirates and Notre Dame College Football Fan. Rudy loves music and hosts a weekly radio show on PRAISE FM, LIFT FM, and 106.3 THE SHORE and thoroughly enjoys people.

Rudy’s LIFE VERSE (The Rudy paraphrase)
“Now unto Him who by the power at work within us is able to OUTDO, SUPERABUNDANTLY, FAR OVER and ABOVE all that we dare ask or think; infinitely beyond our highest prayers, thoughts, hopes, wishes or dreams.” Ephesians 3:20

I knew your mom and dad when they lived in Peapack nj and had Bible study in their home every Friday night. Her life made a lasting impression on me in my walk with Jesus. I wonder if she is still living. I would love to write to her and share what God has done with me since that time. Thank you.
